What is Thrive?

The Thrive Approach is a structured, evidence-based method used in schools, early years settings, and families to support the emotional and social development of children and young people. It’s designed to help them become more resilient, emotionally aware, and better able to engage in learning and relationships.

Thrive is a whole school embedded approach. Whole school screening takes place every full term at Cross Keys Learning, enabling our practitioners to identify young people in need of 1:1 intervention and support their social and emotional needs.

The Benefits of Thrive

  • Students are supported in understanding their feelings more and taught how to manage emotions.
  • When students feel safe and supported, they concentrate better and enjoy school more leading to improved learning.
  • It helps children build trust with adults and friendships with others.
  • Students have increased confidence. They feel good about themselves and more able to try new things or handle challenges.
  • Support can be available when problems are noticed and helped early, before they get worse.
  • It helps all children, not just those struggling, so everyone can thrive together.
