Student Council

Cross Keys Learning is proud to have its very own team of student councillors helping to make Cross Keys Learning the best it can be for every child.

Each year a student is selected by their class peers to be student councillor and represent the views of the whole class.

The Student Council plays a pivotal role in the development of our school, ensuring that every pupil's voice is heard. It provides a platform for students to express their views and suggest positive changes.

The council meetings, which occur once a term, are a time for our student councillors to meet, discuss the agenda items, and share the feedback and suggestions gathered from their classmates. Their input is then minuted by our Inclusion Manager, who in turn communicates these insights to our Senior Leadership Team. This collaborative process often leads to the implementation of innovative ideas and meaningful improvements within our school community.

Being a student councillor is a great privilege and responsibility. It offers the chance for you to develop important skills such as approachability, active listening, and responsibility, all of which are vital attributes for personal and academic growth.

In order to be a good student councillor, you need to be:

  • Approachable - so your peers can talk to you
  • A good listener - respect the views of others
  • Responsible - be a good role model
  • Have excellent attendance

As a member of our student council, you have the opportunity to make a real impact on our school and gain valuable experience that will contribute to your personal and academic growth.
