Cross Keys Learning - Independent School with SEN Provision

The newly opened Cross Keys Learning has recently been awarded independent school status and is keen to build on its already established reputation as a quality-based SEN provision.

Our small but friendly environment will have ten Key stage three and four students and will deliver a broad education curriculum for students with wide ranging SEMH needs, all who have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP).

Each student's timetable will be bespoke and designed to meet their needs to allow them the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

How We Are Supporting Students During This Period

Cross Keys Learning is open to all students. For those students who are not able to attend, staff have supported them and parents and carers, to set up email addresses which can be used to support online learning via Microsoft Teams.

Students are sent daily invites to the sessions which are hosted from the classroom, so that students can liaise directly with teaching staff and where appropriate, participate in the class learning and discussions.

Friday afternoon sessions are usually an activity session and students working from home are provided with an online session from their group teaching assistant which covers the tutor group activity session. Those students who attend school are provided with a home-based learning task which may be linked to their interventions.

Weekly pastoral phone calls to follow up on non-attendees have been implemented by members of the senior leadership team and as of the week beginning January 18th January 2021, fortnightly pupil progress meetings with teaching staff have also been implemented to discuss individual student engagement during lockdown.
